A Coffee Guide To Marrakech

Moroccan coffee culture is generous and social — long sittings, small cups, endless conversation. Specialty coffee arrived recently and sits happily on top of that tradition.

At Carmel we pull a balanced espresso: chocolate and dried fruit, low acidity, forgiving with milk. There is a rotating filter for anyone who wants clarity instead of comfort.

Try the cardamom latte at least once. It bridges the two cultures better than anything else on the menu.

We open at eight. The first hour on the terrace, before Majorelle opens its gates, is the best coffee moment in the quarter.
